Meet the Burkholders

Meet Rebecca, her husband Matthew, and their five kids — the family behind Hunny’s Party & Play Café.

At the beginning of 2026, our family purchased the play café formerly known as Busy Bodies Play Cafe, and I stepped into the day-to-day role of running and growing the business.

As a mom, I immediately connected with the idea behind the space. I loved having a place where little ones could use their imaginations, be creative, make new friends, and simply enjoy being kids in a safe and welcoming environment.

I also wanted Hunny’s to be a place for parents. Somewhere you can meet a friend, connect with other parents, enjoy a cup of coffee, and let your kids play — without worrying about the toys scattered across your house or the cleanup waiting for you afterward.

When it came time to give the business a new name, Hunny’s felt like the perfect fit. I’ve always called my kids “hunny” — along with plenty of variations like Hunny Boo Boo, Hunny Bunny, and Hunny Muffin — so the name felt warm, playful, and personal to our family.

In October 2026, Hunny’s Party & Play Café began its next chapter. My goal is to keep creating a space where families can slow down, connect, celebrate, and make memories together.

As a mom of five, I know how valuable it is to have somewhere that makes family life just a little easier. I’m excited to keep growing Hunny’s, creating new experiences, celebrating lots of birthdays, and seeing where this journey takes us next.
